Seamount College Phase 1 Handover
Seamount College Phase 1 is completed & handed over on schedule.
This marks an important milestone in the overall masterplan for the site with our design for Phase 2 commencing shortly.
Phase I comprises of a two storey extension to the existing school with additional mainstream & specialist classroom accommodation, staff room, toilets, circulation space, new pedestrian entrance, courtyard and vehicular drop off area to the rear.
Sustainability credentials include a ‘fabric first’ approach incorporating a highly insulated and airtight building envelope in excess of present nZEB (near zero energy building standards), rain water harvesting system providing for the re-use of rainwater throughout the building together with high efficiency bathroom fittings for overall reduction of mains water usage, high SRI value roofing & part hardscaping to reduce global ‘heat island’ effect, low energy movement/ambient sensored LED lighting throughout and photo voltaic panels scheduled for installation within the next phase to minimise energy use and carbon footprint

External Courtyard
The design included a south-facing sheltered courtyard which shall be fully enclosed & landscaped on completion of Phase 2. This shall provide a quality sheltered external space for students as well as a new focal point to the school
Specialist Class Rooms
Specialist classroom accommodation includes a new fully equipped home economics classroom with view across the bay
