PorterShed a Dó Official Opening
We were delighted to attend the official opening this week of our PorterShed a Dó project on Market St. Galway by Mr. Simon Coveney, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment
This was our second building recently handed over for Portershed Galway involved the refurbishment, extension & adaptive re-use of existing buildings in the heart of Galway city centre to provide new vibrant co-working office, meeting & event space for in excess of 330 over the two sites as part of the Galway City Innovation District(GCID)
Portershed 2, Market street, Galway
The Market st. site comprises an extension, additional floor, and refurbishment to an existing office building, providing both private office space and open plan co-working offices, collaborative workspaces, pods, production space, event space, along with a variety of meeting room types and ancillary support spaces
The design also includes a shared pedestrian link from Market street to a future proposed Indoor market to the rear, bike parking, roof terrace & green roof
Portershed Galway are a hugely successful community which provide coworking & collaborative space for technology focused innovation driven enterprises where the focus is to build, grow, scale and innovate the Galway Tech ecosystem where community, collaboration and coworking are at the heart of their ethos
Event space
A ground floor flexible event space & canteen forms the heart of the new facility
Portershed 1, Bowling Green
The Bowling Green site comprises an extension & refurbishment of an existing vacant warehouse building to provide exciting high-tech shared office space, meeting rooms, break-out spaces, canteen, and related accommodation
The scheme also includes a pedestrian walkway through to Market St, providing access to its sister office project on Market street as well as connecting the building and its users to the heart of Galway city
